

You can scan your pallet barcode or press the Next button to create a new pallet. If “Allow Use Pallets” is enabled you will need to indicate the Pallet Type, then at the Pallet number. Then enter data into the Work Ticket and the Bin prompts. If not, you can key in or lookup your Employee number if the lookup is available. The first prompt is the Employee prompt, if you have a barcoded Employee Badge, scan the barcode. This second process requires Employee number collection, allows Parent items to be placed on pallets, allows Alternate Parent items to be completed, allows Scrap entries, allows labels to be printed, allows the data collected to be reviewed, and requires the user to press Send after all data has been collected. If at any point you need to change the prompt you are on, you can scroll the screen and touch the prompt with your finger to open that prompt.

If you scan a quantity that is higher than the Quantity remaining the program will either present a password prompt which requires a manager to enter the correct password, or a warning message if a password is not required, or a message that you cannot enter a Quantity that is higher than the quantity remaining. If you enter a quantity equal to the Quantity remaining the Work ticket prompt will be presented so you can start your next ticket. If you enter a quantity that is lower than the Quantity remaining the program will stay on the Quantity prompt so you can easily complete more items. You can scan the quantity if you have a barcode or use the on-screen keyboard to key in the quantity. The Quantity remaining field shows the quantity that not been completed. Scan, key in, or look up the bin where that finished item will be placed. If the warehouse you are working in is a Multibin warehouse, then the second prompt is the Bin prompt. If not, you can key in or lookup the Work Ticket number. If you have a barcoded Work Ticket Traveler printed out, scan the barcode. Touch the Material Completions icon and then the first prompt is the Work Ticket prompt. This process does not require the user to enter their employee number and the “Auto-send” option is enabled which means the data collected is sent to Sage after each quantity entry. This first process that I will explain is the fastest option for data collection.

And the third part will explain all the data collection prompts and how the Scanco Web portal settings change the data collection process. The second part will explain how the data collected on the devices are imported into Sage.
